A Pioneer in Transformation and Effective Use of Self as a Leader Dr. Darya was an early leader in personal and organizational transformation, and she has over 30 years’ experience as a consultant, coach and educator. In 1985, she created The REAP System™, an approach to co-creating new realities for individuals, groups, and organizations. Using this breakthrough system has enabled many businesses and organizations to create positive change and sustained success. Clients have included Fortune 500 corporations, governments, nonprofit organizations, executives, and change agents. After years of helping leaders achieve positive results, Dr. Darya took a seven-year spiritual sabbatical. During this time she was inspired to take her work directly to the people. Now artists, homemakers, entrepreneurs, people in trades, scientists, healers, educators, politicians, and religious leaders benefit from her services. Her personal journey has included and still includes working with indigenous people from this land and lands abroad. As a result she has been able to see connections between the teachings she received from Spirit that guided her conceptual work and the teachings of different indigenous peoples. As Chair of the Board of NTL Institute, she traveled to the former USSR in 1990 and 1991 conducting workshops with change agents and new entrepreneurs in the months prior to the breakup of the Union. Dr. Darya will be on tour in the United States and abroad from the Spring of 2004 through 2006. Take this opportunity to have a life-changing experience that will make a lasting difference in your personal and business life. More about Dr. Darya Funches and Reflect upon the Rock Dr. Darya has worked with pioneers in the field of Organization Development and has a strong background in business. She has also worked with spiritual teachers from diverse traditions. She combines a rare combination of science, business, psychology, spirituality, and the arts to help people create unified lives, organizations and societies. “All of us have the task of using the gifts God gave us at birth and the skills we gain along the way to assist ourselves and one another,” she says. “Even organizations have higher purposes than making money. In a sense, the gifts and the wounds we have combine in our life journey to provide us with ‘medicine.’ It may not be the medicine of gifted healers of indigenous traditions. It may not be the medicine of plants the Creator gave us to nurture and heal ourselves. Yet, it is the particular combination of prescriptions that we each carry through our own gifts and wounds. We all have to recognize, accept and use our medicine if we are to fulfill our life’s purposes, whether we are individuals or organizations. We can use this ‘medicine’ to assist others when we heal our own wounds.” Her experience in Gestalt approaches enhances her work with individuals. Her diagnostic, strategic, and visionary experience in organizations enhances her corporate work. Dr. Darya is author of “Leadership is Love Made Visible” with Lisa Marshall, “Three Gifts of the Organization Development Practitioner” in Emerging Theory and Practice of OD, and is developer of The REAP™ System for Creating New Realities. She is a national and international speaker, consultant and coach. People of many faiths and cultures request her services, and leaders of commercial and social change seek her out as a valuable resource. Dr. Darya has a Doctorate in Education from University of Massachusetts, a Masters of Public Administration from University of North Carolina, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Lake Forest College. She is former Chair of the Board of NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science, and has been an adjunct faculty member at American University, University of Southern California, and University of North Carolina. She is a member of the National Organization Development Network, Noetic Sciences Institute, and Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. Currently, she is faculty for the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and adjunct faculty for the Union Graduate Institute. Reflect Upon the Rock became the theme for Dr. Darya’s recent spiritual sabbatical. It is also the title of her four-volume set of poetry, prose and parables to be published in 2005. The writing was inspired by her teachings, observations, and journeys in transformation with family, clients, indigenous peoples, nations, Spirit and the Land. Most of the collection was written at her retreat in southern Washington, Mossyrock Landing, which she affectionately calls “The Rock.” |
